Abstrakt: | A recent study conducted at the University of New South Wales explored the feasibility of painful versus non-painful exercise in individuals with knee osteoarthritis (OA). Participants were divided into two groups and performed exercise twice a week for six weeks, with one group engaging in painful exercise and the other in non-painful exercise. The study found that incorporating painful exercise into the treatment of knee OA is feasible and may have potential benefits, such as positive changes in beliefs and behaviors and enhanced systemic benefits associated with higher intensity exercise. Further research comparing the efficacy of painful versus non-painful exercise in knee OA and other chronic musculoskeletal conditions is recommended. [Extracted from the article] |
