A study conducted at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts explored the relevance and clinical utility of Patient-Reported Outcomes Measurement Information System (PROMIS) surveys in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). The study involved adults with SLE receiving outpatient care at a medical center, who completed PROMIS computerized adaptive tests in various domains. Focus groups and interviews were conducted to further understand the relevance of the surveys and their potential benefits in clinical care. Participants found the selected PROMIS domains to be comprehensive and relevant in capturing the impact of SLE on their lives, and expressed enthusiasm about using PROMIS surveys in clinical care. The study concluded that these universal tools can holistically capture the impact of SLE and enhance routine clinical care. [Extracted from the article] |
