A recent study conducted at GMERS Medical College in Gujarat, India, examined the morphological parameters of the proximal end of the femur in the Indian population and its implications in Total Hip Arthroplasty (THA). The researchers found significant variations in the morphological parameters among different populations, highlighting the importance of considering racial diversity in the design and selection of implants for THA. The study emphasizes the need to improve the success and longevity of hip arthroplasty procedures by taking into account the genetic and environmental factors that contribute to racial variations in bone morphology.
