A recent study conducted by Istanbul University-Cerrahpasa examined the mandibles of four different sheep breeds: Ivesi from Turkey, Bardoka from Kosovo, Polish Mountain Sheep from Poland, and Turcana from Romania. The researchers used geometric morphometric analysis to compare the shape variations in the mandibles of these breeds. The study found notable differences in regions such as the ramus mandibula, angulus mandibula, and incisive areas, which were attributed to genetic, geographical, and dietary influences. This research provides valuable data applicable to various fields, including anatomy, veterinary medicine, and zooarchaeology. [Extracted from the article] |
