A recent study conducted by researchers at Tsinghua University in Beijing, China, focused on bronchopulmonary dysplasia-associated pulmonary hypertension (BPD-PH) in very preterm infants. The researchers aimed to develop predictive models using machine learning techniques to identify infants at risk of developing BPD-PH. The study utilized data from four tertiary-level hospitals in China and applied oversampling algorithms to address imbalanced data. The selected model achieved high sensitivity, accuracy, and area under the curve (AUC), providing a useful tool for early diagnosis and treatment planning for pediatric patients with BPD-PH.
