A recent study conducted by researchers at University College London (UCL) highlights the importance of open conversations about Parkinson's disease (PD) dementia. The study found that individuals with PD and their caregivers often avoid discussing cognitive changes due to stigma and the belief that nothing can be done about it. However, engaging in these conversations can help patients access treatment and support, as well as increase participation in research on PD dementia. The researchers used creative workshops and input from PD experts to develop resources for patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals to improve conversations about PD dementia.
