Abstrakt: Autoimmune diseases, characterized by the body's immune system attacking its own tissues, present a significant healthcare challenge affecting millions globally. Traditional treatments, while offering relief, often come with limitations. The emergence of immunotherapeutic approaches has transformed the landscape of autoimmune disease management. This review explores the immunopathogenesis of these conditions, highlighting the role of immune system dysfunction, T cells, B cells, and cytokines in driving tissue damage. Current immunotherapeutic strategies, including monoclonal antibodies, checkpoint inhibitors, tolerogenic therapies, and cell-based treatments, are dissected, emphasizing their potential and limitations. Recent advances in identifying novel targets, personalized medicine and combination therapies are discussed, offering promising avenues for precision-based treatments. Challenges, such as treatment heterogeneity and adverse events, underscore the need for personalized approaches guided by biomarkers and emerging technologies. Looking forward, the article delves into the potential breakthroughs in autoimmune disease management, envisioning a future, where tailored immunotherapy redefines treatment paradigms, promising improved outcomes, and enhanced quality of life for patients.
