Abstrakt: This article discusses the use of photocatalysis in [2,3]-sigmatropic rearrangement reactions of diazo compounds. Metal catalysts are commonly used to access the carbene fragment necessary for these reactions, but visible-light-mediated transformations have gained interest for their green and sustainable synthesis potential. The authors explore the use of heavy atoms and organosulfur compounds as catalysts in these reactions, and optimize the conditions using ruthenium catalysts. The photocatalytic rearrangement reactions are found to be efficient and yield moderate to high yields of the desired products. [Extracted from the article]
