Microservices architecture is a modern approach to software development that offers numerous benefits over traditional monolithic architecture, including increased agility, availability, and fault tolerance. However, migrating from a monolithic architecture to a microservices architecture, can be a complex and challenging process. This paper provides an overview of the key steps involved in migrating to a microservices architecture, as well as the four main metrics for estimating migration costs. By adhering to the suggested evaluation metrics while assessing the ten approaches, organizations can determine the most appropriate strategy for transitioning to a microservices architecture. This approach can harness the advantages of heightened agility, improve availability and enhance fault tolerance. Future research could focus on developing more sophisticated evaluation metrics and conducting case studies of successful microservices implementations. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
