This article provides an overview of the upgrade of the Swiss Light Source (SLS) synchrotron facility at the Paul Scherrer Institute in Switzerland. The upgrade, known as SLS 2.0, aims to improve the facility's performance by implementing new technologies such as multibend achromats and higher storage-ring energy. The article discusses the X-ray sources at SLS 2.0, including bending magnets and insertion devices, with innovations and upgrades being made for the undulators. The beamlines at SLS 2.0 are also undergoing changes, with upgrades in optics and the addition of new beamlines.
