A report from Seattle Children's Hospital discusses the findings of a study on transgender health. The study evaluated the impact of a Project ECHO (extension for community health care outcomes) on gender-affirming care for youth. The results showed significant improvements in provider confidence in areas such as initiating conversations about gender identity and providing information about local resources. However, there was limited change in the development of gender-affirming clinical environments and provider behaviors. The study concludes that additional resources are needed to improve care at a system level and increase access to gender-affirming medical care for youth. [Extracted from the article] |
