A recent study conducted by researchers at Universidade Estadual do Ceara in Brazil explored the use of botulinum toxin for the treatment of keloid scars. The researchers conducted a scoping review of 34 articles on the topic and found that botulinum toxin showed promise in reducing keloids and alleviating symptoms. However, they noted the need for more robust studies to establish effective scar management protocols. This research provides valuable insights into potential treatments for keloid scars, which can have aesthetic, psychological, functional, and social impacts. [Extracted from the article] |
