A recent study conducted by the University of Embu explores the potential of ent-kaurane diterpenoids, a class of natural products, for drug discovery. The study analyzes the physicochemical, pharmacokinetic, and toxicological properties of 570 ent-kaurane diterpenoids, finding that these compounds exhibit drug-like properties and align closely with FDA-approved drugs. The research suggests that ent-kaurane diterpenoids have diverse pharmacological activities, including anticancer, immunosuppressant, and anti-inflammatory effects, making them promising candidates for further drug development. The study highlights the importance of exploring natural products for drug discovery and meeting the demand for effective drugs. [Extracted from the article] |
