A medical student researcher from the University of Melbourne has conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis on the temporal association between atrial fibrillation (AF) and ischemic stroke. The study found that there is a significant temporal relationship between paroxysmal atrial fibrillation (PAF) and ischemic stroke within a 30-day window. However, no significant association was found within a 90-day window. The findings of this research are important for individualized risk prediction and targeted anticoagulation treatment.
