A study conducted by the National Research Center in Egypt examined the protective and therapeutic effects of ashwagandha seed extract (ASE) on the harmful effects of amoxicillin (AM) treatment in rats. The researchers found that AM treatment caused detrimental effects in various biological parameters, including gene expressions and total antioxidant capacity (TAC) values in brain, liver, and testes tissues. However, treatment with ASE significantly improved these parameters, with higher doses of ASE leading to greater improvements. The study also found that ASE reduced the damage caused by AM in histopathological parameters. Overall, the research provides evidence for the protective and therapeutic effects of ASE against the toxic effects of AM in rats. [Extracted from the article] |
