Abstrakt: Radiomics, the science of extracting quantifiable data from radiologic images, has the potential to improve the accuracy of predicting tumor response to therapy. While the current standard for evaluating tumor response is based on changes in tumor size, radiomics can provide additional information by analyzing tumor features such as image intensity, shape, and texture. However, radiomics is still a developing field and requires appropriate development, validation, and investment to fulfill its potential. To incorporate radiomics into routine clinical practices and trials, well-designed studies demonstrating its clinical benefit and correlation with long-term outcomes are needed. Additionally, the timeline for delivering radiomics analysis to clinicians and the selection of lesions for analysis should be considered. Overall, radiomics shows promise in improving cancer management, but further research and validation are necessary. [Extracted from the article]
