Abstrakt: Researchers from Otto-von-Guericke-University in Magdeburg, Germany, have conducted a study on glioblastomas, a type of brain cancer. The study examined the expression of five biomarker candidates in glioblastoma tissues and healthy brain tissues, and assessed their prognostic relevance for patient outcomes. The researchers found that AGTRAP, DIVERSIN, cytoplasmic NEDD8 (NEDD8c), and RRM1 were overexpressed in tumor tissues, while ALKBH3 was underexpressed. AGTRAP and RRM1 were identified as independent prognostic factors for overall survival, and AGTRAP and NEDD8c were significant for progression-free survival. The combination of AGTRAP and ALKBH3 showed the strongest prognostic value for glioblastoma patients' overall survival. These findings contribute to a better understanding of glioblastoma pathophysiology and may help identify new therapeutic targets. [Extracted from the article]
