Abstrakt: This article explores the First Amendment rights of police officers to share workplace concerns on social media. It discusses the legal background of the First Amendment and its application inside and outside the workplace. The article examines the issue of police agency supervision over social media and interrogates police agencies' social media rulebooks. It also considers the justifications for restricting officer speech and arguments against limiting social media use. The article concludes by recommending a balanced regulatory approach that respects both the interests of police officers and the public's right to information. [Extracted from the article]
