Abstrakt: A recent study conducted by researchers at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, has found that Enterococcus intestinal domination (EID) is associated with increased mortality in the acute leukemia chemotherapy population. EID is a state of dysbiosis where enterococci make up more than 30% of the microbiota. The study analyzed microbiota composition in stool samples from 139 patients and found that patients with EID had lower diversity over time and reduced overall survival. The study also identified other genera with high relative abundance, but none were associated with mortality. This research provides valuable insights into the impact of EID on patient outcomes in the acute leukemia chemotherapy population. [Extracted from the article]
