A report from the University of Life Sciences in Timisoara, Romania, discusses a survey of animal neoplastic cases diagnosed in Nigerian veterinary teaching hospitals from 2000-2017. The study found that the majority of neoplastic cases were in avian and canine species, with fewer cases in equine, bovine, ovine, caprine, and porcine species. Marek's disease was the most commonly diagnosed neoplastic disease in Nigerian veterinary teaching hospitals during the study period. The report emphasizes the need for improved diagnosis and recording of neoplastic cases and provides valuable data for veterinary clinicians, pathologists, and epidemiologists in Nigeria.
