Abstrakt: | A research study conducted at the University of Hong Kong compared different diagnostic criteria for detecting angle closure, a condition that can lead to glaucoma. The study used anterior segment swept-source optical coherence tomography (AS-OCT) to measure angle open distance (AOD500) and trabecular iris space area (TISA500) in healthy individuals and patients with angle closure. The researchers found that applying normative percentiles of angle measurements yielded better diagnostic performance than using iris trabecular contact (ITC) as a criterion for detecting angle closure. The study concluded that AS-OCT with normative percentiles can be an effective tool for diagnosing angle closure. [Extracted from the article] |
