A recent study conducted by researchers at the University of Valencia in Spain has revealed new findings on the role of biomarkers in lung health. The study focused on the impact of vitamin A deficiency on epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) in the lung, which is associated with various lung diseases. The researchers found that vitamin A deficiency led to EMT and increased expression of the proprotein convertase furin, which activates TGF-b, a protein involved in EMT. The study highlights the importance of maintaining optimal levels of vitamin A for lung health. [Extracted from the article] |
