A study conducted by researchers at Monash University in Melbourne, Australia, has projected the future burden of ischemic stroke (IS) in the Australian population between 2019 and 2038. The study estimated the lifetime risk of IS and used a multistate dynamic model to project the number of cases and years of life lived with and without IS. The findings indicate that the burden of IS is expected to increase in Australia during this time period.
