The increase in the scale of information processes provided an opportunity to implement revolutionary changes in social life, and together with this actualized the issue of developing worldview and institutional principles for the use of artificial intelligence systems. The analysis of technocratic and transhumanist approaches exposes their optimistic, but at the same time devoid of critical understanding vision of the application of artificial intelligence in social processes. Opposing ideas of total control and loss of individualization and creativity express reservations about unsustainable systems of social management in which man loses his own subjectivity. The purpose of the article is to determine the ways of realizing the humanistic potential of philosophy in response to the threats of informational alienation and the use of information technologies for the purpose of destroying the subjectivity of the individual. The basis of restoration of human freedom and overcoming information alienation is a creative approach, critical thinking, the ability to identify and correlate the real and the non-real. Taking into account the specifics of the work of artificial intelligence systems, the question of comparing them with humans, if it can be implemented, is in the distant future. Artificial intelligence systems are not capable of acting as an equivalent of an personality, although they act as a powerful tool for automating work and growing the economic sector. Among the current threats, it is possible to single out the loss of horizontal and vertical social ties, the reduction of thought processes, the loss of the ability to implement inventions and independent decision-making.
