A recent study conducted in Tongliao, People's Republic of China, focused on the pharmacokinetics of ivermectin in Bactrian camels. The researchers developed a method for detecting ivermectin in plasma using high-performance liquid chromatography fluorescence detection. The study found that ivermectin exhibited slow absorption and widespread distribution in Bactrian camels, with peak concentration and area under the curve correlating positively with the dose. This research provides valuable insights into the pharmacokinetics of ivermectin in Bactrian camels, which can inform dose determination and highlight potential metabolic differences compared to other livestock.
