Abstrakt: A recent study conducted by researchers at the University of Dar es Salaam in Tanzania evaluated two techniques for breast cancer radiotherapy: the field-in-field (FIF) technique and the 3D-conformal radiotherapy enhanced dynamic wedge (EDW) technique. The study found that both techniques were comparable in terms of certain factors, but the FIF technique was slightly superior in terms of dose delivery accuracy and coverage of the target volume. However, the FIF technique had a drawback of higher mean dose to the contralateral breast. The researchers recommend combining the two techniques to address their respective drawbacks.
