Abstrakt: Researchers at the Medical University of Gdansk in Poland have conducted a study on tissue engineering for wound management. They highlight the challenges faced by modern medicine in treating non-healing wounds and skin losses. The researchers suggest that skin substitutes, including both biological and synthetic materials, could be a promising therapeutic method for healing wounds and temporarily or permanently replacing skin functions. However, further clinical trials are needed to fully utilize these skin substitutes in personalized treatment for chronic wounds, such as diabetic foot ulcers and deep skin burns.
