Abstrakt: A recent study conducted at the University of Gothenburg in Sweden examined the effectiveness of the Face-Arm-Speech Time (FAST) algorithm in capturing stroke symptoms, as well as any differences in presentation based on sex and age. The study found that 60% of stroke patients had at least one FAST symptom upon admission, with no significant differences based on sex or age. The addition of new items from the National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) to the FAST algorithm only slightly increased the number of strokes captured. This research provides valuable insights into stroke diagnosis and highlights the need for further investigation into stroke symptoms and their variations. [Extracted from the article]
