A recent study conducted at the University of Adelaide in Australia compared the use of an endotracheal tube (ETT) to a reinforced laryngeal mask airway (RLMA) during endoscopic sinus surgery. The study found that there was no significant difference in emergence time between the two groups. However, the RLMA group had lower use of the medication remifentanil, shorter anesthesia duration, and fewer postoperative adverse events such as cough and throat pain. This research provides valuable insights into the use of different airway techniques during sinus surgery. [Extracted from the article] |
