A study conducted at the University of Baghdad in Iraq examined the presence of HPV genotypes 6 and 11 in pediatric patients with chronic palatine and pharyngeal tonsillitis. The researchers found that these genotypes, which are considered to have a high oncogenic risk, were present in a significant number of tonsillar tissues. The study also suggested that HPV may be spreading among other sexually transmitted infections and may be transmitted from mothers to their children. This research provides valuable insights into the pathogenesis of tonsillitis and the potential role of HPV in its development. [Extracted from the article] |
