Abstrakt: A report from the Hospital of Mataro in Barcelona, Spain discusses the use of high-resolution manometry with impedance (HRPM-I) in studying the pathophysiology of oropharyngeal dysphagia (OD). OD is a common condition with a high prevalence in different patient groups. The research highlights the importance of HRPM-I in understanding dysfunctions of the pharynx and upper esophageal sphincter (UES) in patients with OD. Various experts have proposed a methodology for the practice of HRPM-I and the standardization of metrics for studying pharyngeal motility and UES dysfunctions. The research has been peer-reviewed and provides valuable insights into the study of OD. [Extracted from the article]
