Abstrakt:	Researchers at the Royan Institute for Stem Cell Biology and Technology in Tehran, Iran have presented data on alcoholic fatty liver disease (AFLD). AFLD is a prevalent and progressive disorder, but the exact mechanisms and effective treatments are still unknown due to a lack of reliable in vitro models. The researchers bioengineered liver microtissues that mimic the key features of AFLD when treated with fatty acids. This model could be used to study the molecular pathogenesis of AFLD and for high-throughput drug screening. [Extracted from the article]
