Abstrakt: A recent study conducted by researchers at the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) in the Czech Republic explored the relationship between personality traits and social distance towards different social groups. The study found that agreeableness and openness to experience were significantly related to social distance and prejudicial attitudes. Agreeableness was found to lower social distance towards all studied groups, while openness to experience lowered social distance towards groups that elicited more polarized attitudes in the majority, such as migrants. The study also noted the influence of demographic characteristics, such as age, education level, and gender. The findings highlight the importance of personality in shaping social attitudes and distance towards different groups. [Extracted from the article]
