Administrative documents or official documents are one type of document that generally has a complex layout component. Texture variations can be explored more deeply to facilitate the layout analysis stage of the document image. This research was conducted to explore lacunarity maps for segmenting variations in texture areas in document images. The corpus of document collection used in this study comes from a collection of documents of cooperation from the Agency of Cooperation and Public Relations (Badan Kerjasama dan Kehumasan/BKK), Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha. Our experiment is trying to see the effect of the window size value and the number of levels for the construction of map of lacunarity. The results show that the higher the window size value, the process of segmenting the texture area from the text component area becomes more grouped and unified better. Lacunarity provides an opportunity to be able to detect and extract the graphic components in the document image. Map of lacunarity has the potential to be used to define component segments of document attributes semantically. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
