Abstrakt: A study conducted by researchers at the University of Messina in Italy examined the association between fish consumption during pregnancy and maternal and neonatal outcomes. The study found that consuming small-size oily fish with high DHA and low mercury content (type B fish) was positively associated with increased neonatal weight and head circumference, as well as better maternal outcomes. It was also significantly associated with lower incidences of gestational diabetes and hypertension, as well as cesarean section. The research suggests that the consumption of type B fish during pregnancy can have positive effects on both the mother and the baby. [Extracted from the article]
