Abstrakt:	A new report discusses research findings on antibiotics, specifically focusing on carbapenem-resistant gram-negative bacilli in Ecuador. The study evaluated the molecular characteristics and antimicrobial susceptibility profiles of these bacteria in 2022. The research found that carbapenemase-producing K. pneumoniae with the bla KPC gene were the dominant strain in Ecuador. Extensively drug-resistant P. aeruginosa and A. baumannii were also identified, highlighting the need for strategies to reduce the spread of these strains. The study was funded by Pfizer Cia. Ltda.
