A report from the Anhui Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention in China provides an analysis of the epidemiology of varicella (chickenpox) in Anhui Province from 2012 to 2021. The study found that the incidence of varicella has been gradually increasing in the province, with a total of 276,115 cases reported during the study period. The highest incidence was in 2019, and the population aged 5-14 years had the highest incidence. The study also identified spatial and temporal patterns of varicella, with higher incidence in southern Anhui and two peaks of incidence annually.
