A recent study on atrial fibrillation (AF) has been published, highlighting the effectiveness of ablation as a treatment for this common cardiac arrhythmia. The study emphasizes the need for updated guidelines on catheter and surgical AF ablation due to advancements in research and technology. In response, a joint consensus statement has been released by the European Heart Rhythm Association, the Heart Rhythm Society, the Asia Pacific Heart Rhythm Society, and the Latin American Heart Rhythm Society.
