Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos, son of the former dictator of the Philippines, has successfully rehabilitated his family's tarnished name through the use of social media manipulation. Despite his father's history of corruption and human rights abuses, Bongbong rose to the presidency in 2022. His efforts to reshape the Marcos name have also resulted in positive changes for the country, such as bringing technocrats back into government, stabilizing the economy after the pandemic, and strengthening alliances with the US against Chinese aggression in the South China Sea.
