This article discusses two rare cases of diverticula in the gastrointestinal tract. The first case focuses on an isolated diverticulum of the cecum, which was incidentally discovered during a colonoscopy. The patient had no symptoms of active diverticulitis and was discharged with a follow-up protocol. The second case examines a gastric antral diverticulum, which was detected during a gastroscopic examination. The management of these diverticula depends on the severity of symptoms and the size of the diverticulum. Asymptomatic cases do not require treatment, while symptomatic or complicated cases may require surgical resection. [Extracted from the article] |
