Impact of proximal small bowel lesions detected by capsule endoscopy in Crohn's Disease patients.

Abstrakt: This article, published in the journal Endoscopy, discusses the impact of proximal small bowel lesions detected by capsule endoscopy in patients with Crohn's Disease (CD). The study included 70 patients with inflammatory bowel disease, including CD, ulcerative colitis (UC), and unclassified colitis. The results showed that capsule endoscopy was able to identify proximal disease in 42.9% of patients, with a high diagnostic field. These findings had a significant impact on treatment decisions, with 82.9% of patients requiring treatment modifications based on the findings of the capsule endoscopy. [Extracted from the article]
