This article discusses the use of electrocautery-enhanced lumen-apposing metal stents (LAMS) for various medical indications. Originally developed for draining pancreatic fluid collections, LAMS have also been approved for gallbladder drainage and bile duct drainage. The study analyzes the success rates and complications of LAMS insertion at a specific center using a new device called Hot SPAXUS. The results show high technical and clinical success rates with low complication rates, and the use of LAMS for off-label indications is increasing. [Extracted from the article] |
