Abstrakt: This article, published in the journal Endoscopy, evaluates the effectiveness of endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) in treating patients with large obstructive gallstones and choledochal entrapment. The study found that the success rate after a single catheterization was lower in patients with large gallstones compared to those with simple lithiasis. Factors such as age, cholangitis, and CBD stenosis were associated with reduced overall success of endoscopic treatment. However, there was no statistically significant difference in the effectiveness of endoscopic treatment between patients with large gallstones and those with simple lithiasis.
