Abstrakt: This article, published in the journal Endoscopy, examines the predictors of recurrent bile duct stones after treatment with endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP). The study is retrospective, descriptive, and analytic, including all patients who underwent ERCP for bile duct stones between January 2008 and September 2023. The results show that older age, the number and size of CBD stones, and the presence of impaction were risk factors for recurrent stones, while enlargement of the endoscopic sphincterotomy (EST) was a protective factor. The study highlights the importance of considering these factors when treating and managing patients with bile duct stones. [Extracted from the article]
