Abstrakt: This article, published in the journal Endoscopy, evaluates the effectiveness of a technique called clip anchorage in preventing migration of esophageal stents. The study found that fixing the stent to the mucosa using hemostatic clips reduced the migration rate, particularly in the first month after insertion. However, the overall migration rate was comparable between the fixed and control groups. The technique was deemed simple, feasible, and safe, although other techniques such as endoscopic suturing or over the scope clip fixation may be more efficient. The study concludes that clip fixation using inexpensive equipment readily available in endoscopy departments could be a viable option. [Extracted from the article]
