Abstrakt: This article, titled "Impact of sedation on post colonoscopy colorectal cancer (PCCRC) deaths," examines the association between sedation during colonoscopies and the risk of post-colonoscopy colorectal cancer death. The study analyzed data from a large population-based screening program in Austria and found that sedation was used in 91.1% of screening colonoscopies. The study also found that the incidence of PCCRC death was higher in unsedated patients, but this effect was not statistically significant and may be due to a lower cecal intubation rate in unsedated patients.
