This article discusses a study that evaluated the feasibility and effectiveness of using a novel 1920 nm super pulsed thulium fiber laser (POEM-L) in Peroral Endoscopic Myotomy (POEM) procedures. The study compared the outcomes of ten patients who underwent POEM-L with historical data from patients who underwent POEM using diathermy (POEM-D). The results showed that POEM-L had shorter procedure times and hospital stays compared to POEM-D, and all patients experienced improved dysphagia symptoms.
