Abstrakt: This article discusses the utility of the Endoscopic Pressure Study Integrated System (EPSIS) as a diagnostic tool for gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). The study conducted at Japanese academic hospitals examined the association between intragastric pressure (IGP) measured by EPSIS and acid reflux parameters. The results showed that patients with abnormal acid reflux and pathological reflux had lower pressure gradients in the IGP waveform. The study suggests that the pressure gradient measured by EPSIS during endoscopic assessment could be a useful adjunctive metric for diagnosing GERD. [Extracted from the article]
