This article discusses the feasibility, safety, and outcomes of endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) for early gastrointestinal neoplasia in the UK. The study collected data from 451 UGI ESD cases between August 2016 and August 2023. The majority of cases were performed in the esophagus, with a high technical success rate and low complication rates. The study found that deep submucosal invasion was a predictor of poor R0 rate. Overall, the study demonstrates the feasibility and safety of UGI ESD in a Western population. [Extracted from the article] |
