Abstrakt: This article, published in the journal Endoscopy, explores the correlation between small-bowel capsule endoscopy (SBCE) and intestinal ultrasound (IUS) in patients with active Crohn's disease (CD). The study included 71 patients who were followed with fecal calprotectin (FC), SBCE, and IUS at baseline and after 14 and 52 weeks. The researchers found that IUS measures were highly correlated with SBCE Lewis score, indicating that IUS can provide an accurate assessment of disease activity in CD patients. This research suggests that IUS can be a valuable tool for monitoring disease progression and treatment response in CD patients. [Extracted from the article]
